"
Information Technology Engineering: e-commerce "
1-
Introduction
Due to
increasing growth of information and the its indispensable role in quality of
management and governance and also instrumental role of computer technology in
quality of information collection and organization and the role of internet
facilities in its fast transmission, the Information Technology program is
formed. The program with the field of electronic commerce was defined to train
specialists with the ability of strategic planning and designing and managing of
e-commerce systems to eliminate the practical obstacles of information
technology and e-commerce potentials.
2-
Definitions and Objectives
The information
technology engineering program is a coordinated set of educational and research
activities in different fields including management information systems,
electronic commerce, multimedia systems, information security and computer
networks. The scientific activity pivot, based on the topic, is theoretical
research, empirical research or combination of both and education is an
instrument to overcome the information shortcomings and pave the way to achieve
the research goals.
Among the
objective of the program can be mentioned as the following:
1-
Enveloping to important scientific works in a particular field of information
technology engineering.
2-
Familiarizing with advanced research methods and attempt to make innovation in
this context.
3-
Achieving to the latest scientific, research and technological principles in the
context of e-commerce and e-business.
4-
Achieving to the newest technologies to naturalize them.
5-
Innovation in scientific and research aspects.
6- Help in
developing and expanding the boundaries of knowledge.
7-
Mastering in education, research, planning, implementation, guidance,
supervision, evaluation, analysis, and solve the scientific problems and
unlocking practical problems
of society in one aspects
of
information technology engineering.
3-
Graduate Skills
Graduate of
this program will be able to use knowledge gained in this program to create new
jobs in the fields of research and development of electronic businesses,
creation and development of information systems and design and analysis of
information resources and even to provide advice in the field of information
systems and e-commerce for other public
and private organizations.
4-
Curriculum
The program
leading to PhD degree consists of educational stage, comprehensive exam and
research stage as follows:

II. Comprehensive Exam
Students who
have successfully passed all courses in educational stage, can participate in
comprehensive exam that is held in both written and oral form. This exam is
carried out on PhD course contents passed by student (at least 3 courses) and
student at most can attend two times in the exam.
The details and
conditions of examination are adjusted according to guidelines.
III.
Research Stage
Students who
were accepted in comprehensive exam, will enroll in taking thesis proposal
stage. The total number of credits that student should be taken in research
stage, with the title of "research project" is 21 credits. The thesis credits
are not necessarily mean adoption and acceptance of the thesis and thesis
evaluation is done in accordance with PhD program regulation.
