The commemoration ceremony of the late Dr. Hamid Agha Toulai, a distinguished professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Iran University of Science and Technology, was held on Monday, September 16, 2025, at the Dr. Hassani Auditorium of the faculty.
This ceremony was attended by faculty members, veterans, students, colleagues, staff, and the honorable family of the late professor. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by professors and students of the late professor sharing memories and describing his scientific and personal characteristics.
In the first part, Dr. Alaeiyan (Dean of the Faculty), while appreciating the presence of the guests, honored the memory of Dr. Toulai and also remembered other late professors of the faculty, including the late Dr. Esrafilian, Dr. Sheidfar, Dr. Jazbi, Dr. Hassani, and Dr. Mokhtarzadeh. He described Dr. Toulai as a committed, honest, capable, lively, and precise professor who was outstanding in teaching, especially in Algebra, and who, with his good character and fairness in grading, was considered a standard model of a university professor.
Then, Dr. Khosro Maleknejad, one of the veteran professors of the faculty, remembered the late Toulai as a knowledgeable, disciplined, and kind professor whose achievements included training successful students and distinguished university professors.
Later, Dr. Najafikhah, a faculty member of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, described him as a family-oriented, ethical, knowledgeable, and organized person. Also, Dr. Ghalandarzadeh (faculty member of K. N. Toosi University of Technology and one of Professor Toulai’s students), referring to the patience and good temper of Professor Toulai, mentioned his role in the scientific and moral education of students.
Dr. Zolfaghari (faculty member of Semnan University and one of Professor Toulai’s students) also emphasized the late Toulai’s proficiency in Iranian and English languages and, recalling scientific and moral memories, introduced him as an example of a good-natured and scholarly professor.
Also, Dr. Dehghannejad (Vice Dean for Education of the Faculty), while welcoming the attendees and recalling that he himself was one of Professor Toulai’s students, remembered him with goodness by mentioning several memories and emphasized the importance of honoring the veterans of the faculty.
Then, Dr. Farnoosh, recalling memories of the late Toulai, referred to his command of the English language, his sociability, good morals, and interest in art.
In conclusion, Dr. Shahrezaei (Director General of the Office of Recognition and Role-Modeling, National Elites Foundation), stating that the professors and veterans of the faculty shine like stars in the sky of science and their absence will be felt for years, emphasized the necessity of recording the oral history of the faculty to be transferred to future generations. He ended his speech with this couplet:
"The aim is a mark that remains from us,
For I see no loyalty in existence."
This ceremony ended with lasting memories of the noble professor, the late Dr. Hamid Agha Toulai
