Research Interests
1- Energy Systems Planning • Water-Energy-Food-Environment (WEFE) Nexus Analysis: Simultaneous assessment and optimization of water footprint, energy consumption, carbon emissions, and food security in industrial and agricultural networks. • Resilient Network Design: Modeling operational disruptions and risks in energy, oil, and gas supply chains, and developing resilience strategies. 2- Optimization and Analysis of Systems • Robust & Distributionally Robust Optimization: Developing novel models for managing operational uncertainties in systems and robust optimization. • Closed-Loop Supply Chains & Circular Economy: Designing closed-loop networks (including bio-based products, waste management, etc.) and integrating circular economy concepts into systems analysis. 3- Smart Supply Network Management • Data-Driven Optimization in Supply Chain: Designing GIS-based spatial decision support systems and multi-level optimization models for national logistics planning and sustainable transportation. • Machine Learning for Energy Systems: Employing machine learning models for forecasting and optimizing the performance of energy generation systems (such as combined cycle power plants) and gas distribution networks.
